MAKE A LIST

Let's be real, moving can be stressful. Here are a few tips to help decrease unwanted stress and allow for an efficient move;

*Create a moving checklist
*Update address through USPS
* Use room labels or write rooms on boxes
*Stage boxes in one area / same floor
*Hire professional packing services if possible
*Ensure walk ways & door openings are clear 
*Hire a professional mover to coordinate the entire experience

PRE-MOVE TASKS

A few simple tasks you can do to ensure your house is ready to go for the movers;

*Empty all non-clothing items from dresser drawers 

* disassemble bed frames

*remove TV wall mounts

*unplug appliances 

*remove fragile items from cabinets 

*any remaining loose items group together

*drain/disconnect hot tub

*full disassemble of pool table

Moving is the perfect time to declutter and throw away unused items! Essentially the less items being moved, the less labor costs for you. It is important that all loose items are packed prior to the move day. This reduces unessecary trips for the movers. Take advantage of a new start today!

AVOID MOVING SCAMS

You can never be too careful when trusting your belongings with someone. Some questions you should ask any prospective moving company;

*Are you experienced?
*Are you insured?
*What size crew will you bring? 
*Do you have moving equipment
   (dolly, pads, blankets, etc)

Avoid paying moving companies upfront for labor costs. If the job is not completed within the original estimated time, often the job goes unfinished. Cheap is not always the best when you have to pay a second moving company to finish the job! Find companies who will do it right the FIRST time!
